An international forum on combating illegal trade in industrial goods, including intellectual property rights protection, took place in Minsk from October 6-7, 2025.

In the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), 6.6 million units of counterfeit goods were identified. There were 1,465 recorded violations in the field of intellectual property (IP).

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Trademarks and Service Marks» designations in which the dominant position is taken by signs and (or) indications used to designate type, quality, quantity, properties, purpose, value of goods (services), as well as time, place and way of their production or marketing, occupy a dominant position, are not allowed to be registered as trademarks.

Without a patent, you cannot prevent anyone from manufacturing or selling a similar product, even if you invented it first.
