The Director of the unitary enterprise ‘Belpatentservice’ of the BelCCI took part in the evaluation of MedicalStartup Alley projects at the forum ‘Healthcare of Belarus - 2025’
On 16 April 2025, Vyacheslav Trofimov, Director of the unitary enterprise of patent services ‘Belpatentservice’ of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the pitch session ‘MedicalStartup Alley’ within the framework of the 30th International Medical Forum ‘Health Care of Belarus – 2025’.
The event took place at the Football Manege in Minsk. The cluster “MedicalStartup Alley”, aimed at promoting promising startup projects in the field of medicine, was represented by more than 30 developments of winners and participants of startup competitions held in 2024-2025 by Belagroprombank, Belarusian Republican Youth Union and other organizations.
The authors of the projects ‘SMARTDOCTOR – international innovative educational platform for doctors’, ‘Test systems for D-amino acids detection’, ‘Methodology of adaptive therapy of respiratory failure and its hardware and software implementation in the form of a medical device for optimising oxygen consumption’, ‘Medical silver-containing dressings’, ‘Laboratory for diagnostics of viral infections’, ‘Diagnostic capabilities of blood biochemical analysis in prognosis’ took advantage of the unique opportunity to present their innovations in the international arena. Participants, experts and guests of the pitch session had an opportunity to get acquainted with the process of monitoring the development of cell cultures, a prototype of EasyStep insole for easy walking and running, applications GlobalMedGuide – for automation of doctors' work with clinical protocols, Sequoia – for men's health, SPECIALSMETTER online platform of developmental programmes for children with peculiarities of psychophysical development, an intelligent system of ECG decoding, projects of own individual compression lingerie for the treatment of scarring changes and cosmetic issues.
The MedicalStartup Alley also included the projects ‘Electronic walking stick for the visually impaired’, ‘Device for determining the level of impairment of tactile, pain, temperature and vibration sensitivity in patients with peripheral neuropathy’, ‘Say it easily’, ‘AI-trainer for diagnosing papillary thyroid cancer’ and others.
The head of the Belpatentservice UE gave an expert assessment of the projects in terms of protectability and legal protection, and also presented to the authors of three developments the results of initiative searches for similar patents of the Russian Federation. In particular, this information concerned such objects as EasyStep shue insole-insert, silver-containing medical dressings and electronic walking stick for the visually impaired.
