Innovation for a Green Future
Every year, on April 26, the world celebrates World Intellectual Property Day to educate the public about how intellectual property (IP) rights contribute to innovation and creativity.
The 2020 World Intellectual Property Day campaign focuses on the key role of innovation (and IP as its foundation) in ensuring a green future. Why? Because the decisions we make today shape our lives tomorrow. The earth is our home. We must cherish it.
Securing a green future is an urgent issue of our time. It is our common task, and each of us has a role to play. The task is complex and multifaceted, but, as the renowned naturalist David Attenborough noted, "the ability to solve problems is our trait as a species".
We have the power to create a green future. We have the collective experience, ingenuity and creativity to find new, more efficient ways to get on a low-carbon course. But we must act now!
