International Forum on Intellectual Property "EXPOPRIORITY'2013"
The forum was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and ZAO “Expocenter”. The official partners of the Forum were: the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RGAIS) as a scientific partner. The forum was supported by Rospatent, the World Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the All-Russian Society of Innovators and Inventors (VOIR), the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).
The central event of "EXPOPRIORITY'2013" was the Congress "Intellectual Property - a powerful resource to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy." The Forum focused on the most pressing problems of the creation, development and commercialization of intellectual property, including the formation of a long-term state strategy in this area; increase innovation activity of the real sector of the Russian economy; mechanisms for transferring into the private sector of intellectual property objects created at the expense of the state budget.
During the work of the forum if frames of the seminar "Realization and protection of exclusive rights, taking into account the law enforcement practice of recent years" the manager Trofimov V.V. made a presentation on "Some Specifics of Protection of Trademarks Rights of Foreign and Russian Entities in the Republic of Belarus", and also took part in the round tables "Protection and Protection of Intellectual Property in the Exhibition Business" and "Current Issues of Protection of Intellectual Property in the WTO". Sharp discussions of the round tables showed that in the Russian Federation great attention is paid not only to the protection of intellectual property at all stages of the creation and promotion of innovative products in the open market of goods and services, but also to their non-pirate use.
