Almost 900 delegates from 193 member countries of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) take part in the sixty-third meetings series of the member states Assemblies of this international institution within the UN system

Welcoming the delegates, WIPO Director General Daren Tang said: "...Global inflation. Destruction of food and energy supply chains. The situation in the world remains extremely problematic. However, despite these shocks, we cannot stand still or stop working on shaping the future image of the global intellectual property (IP) ecosystem."

"We, representing the global community, must remain firmly committed to transforming IP from a highly specialized tool intended only for specialists into a powerful catalyst for employment, investment and growth,  which supports authors and innovators around the globe," he added.

This global event is attended by a Belarusian delegation consisting of the leadership of the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIS), as well as employees of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Office and to other international organizations in Geneva.

The 63rd series of meetings takes place from July 14 to 22, 2022 at WIPO in Geneva.
