On July 14, the twelfth session of the Intellectual Property Advisory Office for exporters since the beginning of this year ends
A representative of a Belarusian company importing consumables and components for light copying equipment from a well-known Western manufacturer asked a very burning question in the light of sanctions about the possibility of importing products into the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
The agent's answer encouraged the visitor of the Advisory Office:
"Currently, a draft law is being developed concerning the temporary introduction of parallel imports, i.e. the transition to the international principle of intellectual property rights exhaustion in respect of a particular type of goods. The list and duration of exceptions from the regional principle of exhaustion of rights to the IPO, currently in force in the Republic of Belarus and within the EAEU, will be determined most quickly by government regulations.
It is possible that consumables and components for imported photocopying equipment may also be included in such a list.
