On December 15, 2021, the final event of the Republican Contest of Innovative Projects of 2021 takes place, namely the award ceremony of its winners.
The ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere in the building of the Minsk Hotel.
According to Alexander Shumilin, the chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, this year saw 145 submitted applications, including 54 in the nomination "Best Innovative Project", 91 in the nomination "Best Youth Innovative Project". In the final, 36 projects competed with each other. The total number of submitted projects this year has doubled the number of projects in 2020.
In each nomination, one winner and five prize-winners were selected, of which two participants took second place and three took third place. The winners of the contest will receive cash prizes from the organizers in the amount of 840 to 2,494 Belarusian rubles. In addition, 5 projects were selected to receive funds for their commercialization in the amount of 16,500 Belarusian rubles each.
At the award ceremony, the competition commission included Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereinafter BelCCI), who represented the BelCCI, and Vyacheslav Trofimov, Director of the Belpatentservice Unitory Enterprise by the BelCCI, who represented the Belpatentservice. It was he who on behalf of the Belpatentservice presented the Gomel Regional Clinical Hospital with a diploma for the development and implementation of technology for creating individual navigation templates in spinal surgery using additive 3D technologies. The diploma was accepted by the main developer of the technology – neurosurgeon Evgeny Kovalev. The patent holder Stanislav Zavadsky, director of the Contact Lenses Plus Private Commercial and Industrial Unitary Enterprise was the one to receive the Belpatentservice's discount certificate for the 5th-and-6th-year-maintenance of patent No. 22998 for the invention "Device for transmitting information to a blind person for orientation in his surroundings." Vyacheslav Trofimov informed the audience about the services of the Belpatentservice, including the patenting of developments and patent research, as well as the work of the Intellectual Property Advisory Office for exporters.
Many members of the competition council proposed new nominations and on behalf of their organizations awarded with certificates of honor and valuable gifts the projects the liked, including those that did not become winners of the competition.
