Another session of the intellectual property consultation center for exporters concluded on May 27, 2021.
Seven questions were asked and covered during the session.
All of them came from the representative of the marketing department of the domestic machine tool factory. The questions asked by the specialist were relevant to the entire machine tool industry in our country:
1. How can we protect the marking of the machine tool, reflecting the model range?
2. Is it necessary to register a trademark to mark a machine tool and is it necessary to obtain protective documents for the design of the machine tool?
3. What does protection of the design of the machine tool do to the rightful owner?
4. Does obtaining certification documents stating the model of the machine tool give the exclusive right to mark the model of the machine tool?
5. What is the territorial nature of patent for an industrial design?
6. What are the mechanisms of protection of the owners’ rights of patents and trademarks in the Republic of Belarus and in the countries of the EEU?
7. What are the consequences for infringers of rights to patents and trademarks in our country?
