On December 10, 2024, the legal day on intellectual property is held for the members of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a practice-oriented event "Legal Day on Intellectual Property", organized by the unitary enterprise Belpatentservice for representatives of the member enterprises of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The speakers of the event were Vyacheslav Trofimov, Director of the UE Belpatentservice of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Losev, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law at the Belarusian State University, and Irina Skobey, Engineer for Patent and inventive Work at ATLANT CJSC. Vyacheslav Trofimov moderated the Legal Day.
The event was attended by more than 40 representatives of Belarusian member enterprises of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including company executives, representatives of legal, patent and marketing services, and innovation specialists.
During the event, the latest changes in the legislation of the Republic of Belarus on intellectual property (in particular, the new version of section V of the Civil Code), the specifics of the exercise of intellectual property rights under economic sanctions, including issues of parallel import, compulsory licensing of objects of patent law and the free use of objects of copyright (related rights), topical issues of protection, service objects of industrial property law, examples of improper protection of intellectual property were considered. One of the experts provided practical recommendations for working with innovation proposals.
At the end of the practical presentations, the participants received competent answers from the speakers to questions in the field of protection of intellectual property objects using specific examples during oral consultations.
